Our little girl Amelie just turned 3 the other week! Time sure does fly. It wasn’t too long ago when we added her to the team. 
Geek note for photography buffs: this is a frame grab from a video clip we shot with the Canon 5D Mk Dos. I didn’t use any special video tools…
1) just played back the video in Quicktime…
2) scrubbed the video timeline to the peak smiliness,
3) paused the video and did a screen capture a la CMD-SHIFT-3. Voila!
I was inspired to shoot portrait using video via the Esquire shoot of Megan Fox, in which they shot HD using those insane-o redOne cameras. It’s ridculous the amount of resolution you can pull from these HD video clips nowadays. When bigger, faster portable storage hits that magical price point I can totally see this way of shooting taking off in the portrait realm for us smaller operations.
