San Diego County Fair Engagement Session

Or… as we old school folks call the “Del Mar Fair.” It’s that time of the year to load up on cholesterol unfriendly fried yumminess. Team Atrero spent the day at the fair with Gigi and Jonathan on a gastronomical quest of the latest county fair delicacies. Our buddy John from NR3 Video Productions was shooting alongside and devouring everything in sight.

As with us, the “Fair” holds a special place in Gigi and Jonathan heart. They have even made trips to San Diego while they lived in Nevada just for the fair. OK, maybe the fact that their families still live in SD might have played a role. But who can resist Australian Battered Potatoes?!?

Sidenote: whilst snapping away, Ed was in search of the mythical 6 foot churro. Alas, he later discovered such technology has not been yet developed to coat an object with 40 pounds of cinnamon sugar.

Here they are… the holy grail of potatoes in fried form: Australian Battered Potatoes. Droooolll….

Apparently, Gigi didn’t win this time around. Word has it that she’s been filling her bath tub and tossing ping pong balls in cups to gear up for the next county fair.

Gigi saying: “Dude! Don’t bogart the candy apple!”

So fun! I love these! What a unique location/shoot. You two got some great images. I love the one sitting on the hay with the lights in the back. And cuddling on the ferris wheel

I spent my entire Fair trip looking for deep fried snickers and couldn’t find it!! You make me jealous.

My security word was superkrew. I introduced you to fried candies and now you throw it in my face. Everything should be fried. Crisco + (insert food here) = heaven. I also just noticed that every picture, Jonathan, looks like he’s trying, or just let out a fart. (especially the ferris wheel one).

Just as a side note, people say that my sister is just me with long hair. I would like Jonathan to picture that next time you guys are making out or whatever it is you kids do these days.

Ed and Karen, We can’t say enough how much we love our pictures. Without sounding too narcissistic, but we can watch watch our slideshow all day. We laugh and smile every time we see it remembering how much fun we had with all of you. You truly captured “us”. Thank you times a million! We can’t wait till the wedding day!

these pictures are amazinginly beautiful. its refreshing to see engagement photos that arent at the beach (not that those arent pretty) but i loooove these pictures. it makes me want to get married, (ahem gigi’s single friends). excellent photography.

So I came upon this website and these pics by google-ing “new hotness” and “sexy-ness” hoping to find a date for Sept. 27th (any takers?)… I don’t know HOW these pics came up. J/K =)

But honestly, the pics came our wonderful and the setting is a very unique one. How many people can take their engagement photos there now? None! Because it’s over and done with for at least a year! You guys capitalized on the opportunity and created very memorable and incomparable snippets of your engagement to reminisce on. Big ups to Atrero Photography for capturing these precious moments; they seem to be the best in the business (ahem… I’ll take my cut now)

So is it bad that I was focusing on the food the whole time? Who are these people in the picture anyway? =)

And finally… That Brian “muscles” Badillo character?? I don’t know about him sometimes… Talking about deep fried foods as if they are a part of his everyday eat-eats. If so, is “muscles” an accurate nickname for you?? Just remember… I knew you from your Super Star and BBQ Pork Topsilog days =)
